What are Onyx research peptides intended for?
All products sold by Onyx are strictly intended for laboratory research and in vitro development use only. They are not intended for human consumption, clinical trials, diagnostic purposes, or veterinary use.
What is the purity level of Onyx research peptides?
We hold our inventory to the highest industry standards. Every batch of peptides we distribute undergoes rigorous testing to ensure a minimum purity of 98% or higher, with many products exceeding 99% purity.
Do you provide documentation for your peptides (HPLC / MS)?
Yes. Transparency is foundational to scientific research. We provide High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Mass Spectrometry (MS) analysis reports (COA) for our batches to verify both purity and correct sequence identity.
In what form are the peptides shipped?
Most of our research peptides are shipped as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) fluffy white powder. This format ensures maximum stability during transit and long-term storage.
Can you synthesize custom peptide sequences?
Yes, we offer custom peptide synthesis services. You can provide your required amino acid sequence, length, purity target, and quantity (from milligrams to grams), and our lab team will generate a custom quote.
How should I store the peptides upon arrival?
-
Short-term (Lyophilized): Store at (refrigerated) for up to several months.
-
Long-term (Lyophilized): Store at to (frozen) to prevent degradation. Keep away from intense light and moisture.
What is the best way to reconstitute lyophilized peptides?
Reconstitution depends on the specific chemical properties of the peptide. However, most research peptides dissolve efficiently in sterile Bacteriostatic Water or Sterile Water for Injection. For highly hydrophobic peptides, a minute amount of acetic acid (for basic peptides) or ammonium hydroxide (for acidic peptides) may be required before adding water.
How long do peptides remain stable after reconstitution?
Once reconstituted into a liquid solution, peptides are much more fragile. They should be stored at and used ideally within 2 to 4 weeks. For longer storage of a liquid solution, aliquot the solution into single-use vials and freeze at to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Why is there a tiny amount of powder in my vial, or why does it look empty?
Many peptides are highly potent and dosed in microgram or low milligram amounts (e.g., 2mg or 5mg). This small mass can look like a tiny film or a minuscule speck at the bottom of the vial. Rest assured, the precise mass stated on the label is present.
Do peptides degrade if they warm up during transit?
In their lyophilized (freeze-dried) state, peptides are highly stable and can tolerate ambient room temperatures during standard transit times without losing structural integrity. Once received, however, they should immediately be placed in cold storage.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to a wide range of international destinations. However, it is the responsibility of the importing researcher to understand and comply with their local customs laws and research regulations.
How fast are orders processed and shipped?
In-stock catalog items are typically processed and shipped within 1 to 2 business days. Standard domestic shipping generally takes 2 to 5 business days, while international shipping timelines vary depending on the destination and customs clearings.
What carriers do you use, and is tracking provided?
We ship using reliable major couriers (such as USPS, FedEx, or UPS). A tracking number is automatically generated and emailed to you as soon as the shipping label is created.
What quality control measures are in place?
Our manufacturing and sourcing protocol includes strict quality control checks. Every batch is tested using analytical HPLC to confirm purity and Mass Spectrometry to confirm correct molecular weight and sequence alignment.
Why does the appearance of the lyophilized powder vary between batches?
Variations in appearance (e.g., a solid cake vs. a loose powder) are completely normal. This is caused by minor differences in the freeze-drying process parameters, such as vacuum pressure and temperature curves, or the presence of residual salts. It does not impact the chemical composition, mass, or purity of the peptide.
Do your vials contain any fillers or additives?
Some of our peptides may include a bulking agent like Mannitol to help form a stable “lyophilized cake” and protect the peptide during freeze-drying. If a bulking agent is used, it will be clearly noted, and it does not affect the active mass of the peptide itself.
Do I need a specific license to purchase from Onyx?
While we do not always require a formal institutional license for initial catalog purchases, we verify that purchases are being made by verified independent researchers, corporate laboratories, or academic institutions. We reserve the right to cancel any order suspected of being diverted for non-research use.
What is your return policy?
Due to the sensitive biochemical nature of research reagents and the strict temperature controls required to maintain their integrity, we cannot accept returns or exchanges once the product has left our facility. If there is a verified issue with quality or ordering errors on our part, please contact customer support immediately.
Can I get a bulk discount for large-scale research projects?
Yes. We offer competitive tiered pricing for bulk orders or ongoing research contracts. Please reach out to our sales team via our contact page with your specific volume requirements for a tailored quote.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major ZELLE, APPLE CASH, CHIME, CRYPTO All transaction details are fully encrypted to protect your institutional data.
